Ceramic knives can make it through a metal detector undetected as long as the knife contains only ceramic and plastic. Just because the ceramic knives can go through undetected, it is illegal to bring them on an airplane. TSA will confiscate and destroy your knife. Be sure to pack your ceramic tools in your checked bags.
